You do not need Python to start a career in data. Most analyst work in Indian companies still happens in Excel, SQL and Power BI — and being genuinely good at those three, plus being able to explain what the numbers mean, is a complete and hireable skill set.
Syllabus
7 modules across 8 weeks, at about 5 hrs/week.
Data cleaning and preparation
Duplicates, missing values and inconsistent formats, and documenting what you changed and why.
SQL fundamentals
SELECT, JOIN, GROUP BY and subqueries — enough SQL to pull your own data instead of waiting for someone else.
Power BI data modelling
Relationships, star schema and DAX measures that stay correct when filters change.
Dashboard design
Choosing the right chart, removing decoration, and building a dashboard an executive can read in ten seconds.
Storytelling with data
Structuring an analysis as a narrative and presenting a finding people will act on.
Capstone: a full analytics project
Take a raw messy dataset through cleaning, modelling and dashboarding to a presented recommendation.

Data Analytics with Power BI — questions
Do I need Python for a data analyst job?
Not for most entry-level analyst roles in India, which run on Excel, SQL and a BI tool. Python becomes valuable later, particularly moving towards data science, but it is not the barrier people assume.
Is Power BI free to practise on?
Power BI Desktop is free to download and covers everything in this course. A Power BI Pro licence is only needed to publish and share workspaces, which we cover conceptually.
Is this suitable for a non-IT background?
Yes. Commerce, finance and operations backgrounds often do particularly well because they already understand the business context behind the numbers.
Will I work with real datasets?
Yes. Every module uses realistic, deliberately messy datasets rather than pre-cleaned textbook files, because cleaning is most of the actual job.
